A vehicle accident involving a taxi occurred along Nanyang Drive, near to Hall of Residence 7, on Monday night (21 Nov).
The taxi driver was unhurt and not ferrying any passengers, the University said in a statement.
Campus security received a call about the accident just before 8pm.
But some students still saw an ambulance parked near Hall 7 even after 11pm that same day.
Second-year Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and Information student Muhammad Syafiq, 23, said he was on bus service 179 with two friends about 11.30pm when they saw a taxi with a dented front bumper on the road near the hall.
They also saw an ambulance and a police car at the scene.
The site was clear when Syafiq passed by again about midnight, but a road sign along the side of Nanyang Drive had been badly damaged, he added.
