The Animal Wars

The enmity between cats and dogs is perhaps as old as time, but it’s shaping up to be quite an ugly one at NTU. Cat carcasses have been found ripped apart in Halls 2, 6, and 9, allegedly by a pack of stray dogs.

And the situation is causing some tension amongst students with loyalty to either animal.

After receiving numerous eyewitness reports of the gruesome act, NTU’s Cat Management Network (CMN) reported the situation to the Office of Development and Facilities Management (ODFM). The ODFM has then engaged a professional dogcatcher to round up the stray dogs.

NTU dog lovers are concerned with the fate of the dogs, though, as they are likely to be culled when turned over to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Association (AVA). Campus Dogs NTU believes there should be a more humane way to deal with them.

Expectedly, both sides are deeply passionate about protecting their beloved animals. But have you actually seen such violent incidents between the two animals? What do you feel about them?

Are we intervening falsely by rounding up the dogs? Or are we weakening the cats’ survival instincts by protecting them?

What should be done?

Think with us, share your comments below, and help achieve a truce between the cat and dog nations!
